VEGETATIVE REPRODUCTION BY LEAF & ROOT

VEGETATIVE REPRODUCTION 

It is the formation of new plants from vegetative units or propagules such as a buds, tubers rhizomes etc..

We can classified into three Categories 

1) By Stem

2) By Root

3) By Leaf

2) VEGETATIVE REPRODUCTION  BY ROOT

Both tap root and adventitious root take part in vegetative or propagation 

tap root

 e.g - Dalbergia (Sheesham) Guava, Polar,Albizia, Murraya, 

Flashy root (root tubers) -Sweet Potato, Tapioca, Dahlia, Asparagus

3) VEGETATIVE REPRODUCTION  BY LEAF 

Leaves of many plants have adventitious buds help in vegetative reproduction.

eg- Begonia bryophyllum, Kalanchoe,Streptocarpus,Saintpaulia.
