🏛️ Union Territory Quotas & Specialized Counselling Rules
1. Delhi (DU / IPU 85% State Quota):
Unlike other states, 85% Institutional Quota counselling for Delhi colleges (MAMC, LHMC, UCMS under DU; VMMCC/SJJH, Dr. BSA under IPU) is conducted centrally by MCC (mcc.nic.in). Eligibility requires passing 11th and 12th from a school located in Delhi.
2. Chandigarh (JAC Chandigarh / GMCH 32):
Conducted by GMCH Chandigarh (gmch.gov.in). 85% state quota seats are divided between Chandigarh Pool (candidates passing 10+2 from Chandigarh schools) and Non-Chandigarh Pool.
3. Puducherry (CENTAC):
Conducted by CENTAC (centacpuducherry.in). Manages government quota seats for Puducherry residents and open management quota seats in private colleges for all-India candidates.
🎯 Strategic Masterclass: Mop-Up & Stray Vacancy Rounds
The final rounds of NEET UG counselling carry high rewards but also significant risks. Follow these strategic rules to maximize your admission chances:
- Security Deposit Forfeiture Rule: Under standard rules, if you are allotted a seat in Round 2 or Round 3 and choose not to join, your security deposit will be forfeited. Ensure you list ONLY colleges you are genuinely prepared to join.
- No Exit Options in Stray Vacancy: If you are allotted a seat in the Stray Vacancy Round, you MUST take admission. Failure to do so leads to a 1-year debarment from NEET counselling.
- Tracking Real-Time Seat Matrix: Mop-Up rounds depend entirely on vacant seats reported after Round 2 admissions close. Keep checking state DME portals daily for updated seat matrices.
- Document Readiness: Keep original documents, demand drafts, or online bank transfer limits ready, as joining windows during offline or physical stray rounds are often as short as 24 to 48 hours.
